Burr, Burr...We were asked to substitute at the Temple this morning, so we were up and ready...Grandpa got the pickup ready and we piled in and took off...about the time we got to Taylor we started realizing that there weren't any lights on...no lights along the street, no ---lights at Sonic and no lights at the Conoco station--or traffic lights at the corner. Hummmm...When we were about to the street that goes up the hill to the Temple there were several cars that hadn't been able to get up to the parking lot. No lights inside or outside at the Temple, either. Grandpa went in and talked to President Tenney and President Hancock and they asked him to go down to the bottom of the hill and tell folks not to come into the parking lot today. They have a couple of weddings today and that's all they will be able to take care of. We sat down there for about an hour--hard to tell people to turn around and go home...The weddings aren't until about 10 a.m. so hopefully Brother Langston will have things cleaned off a little by then. We heard that one of the grooms said he didn't care if they had to do the sealing by flashlight, he still wanted to get married TODAY. The one thing we can't hardly believe is that we didn't lose power in Shumway but they did in Taylor and Snowflake....that's just plain unheard of!
